Holiday Kennel Cleaning Progress

Even while on holiday, life with the Snövind Malamutes keeps me busy! The last two days have been all about giving the kennels some extra care and attention. I've been cleaning, organizing, and making sure each dog has a fresh, cozy space to settle into at the end of the day.

The progress has been amazing — I've got a few pictures showing the transformation. It's so rewarding to see the kennels looking fresh and the dogs happy and comfortable in their spaces.

T o t o p it off, I recorded a video at the end of the night when all the dogs were settled in the freshly cleaned kennels. It's a calm, cozy glimpse into the pack's bedtime routine and a nice way to see how they all enjoy their clean spaces.

Keeping the kennels clean and organized not only makes life better for the dogs but also makes caring for a large pack like ours much easier. Even on holiday, it's satisfying to maintain a routine that keeps everyone happy and healthy.

My 7-Day Gym Program

Balancing a full-time job with caring for my incredible pack of seven Alaskan Malamutes is a rewarding challenge. To keep up with their energy and enjoy training and running together, I'm committed to improving my fitness, losing weight, and building muscle.

This 7-day gym-based program is designed to help me shed weight (from 100kg to 85kg), gain strength, and boost endurance — all essential for sled training and outdoor adventures with my dogs during the snow-free months.

Each day focuses on a mix of strength, conditioning, and core work, tailored to prepare me for the physical demands of running and pulling sleds or tyres with the pack. I'm tracking my progress carefully with a weekly log, aiming to share the journey here on the blog.

So with less sun, the weather is starting to get really cold here in Sweden now

something I've found myself doing a fair bit of is sun 'basking' … not to be confused with sun bathing as you'll not get a tan here this time of year 😉 Sun basking is finding any sunny spot you can find which makes for a great spot for some vitamin D, a bit of warmth before the sun dips behind the forest trees, a coffee and Telenor watching (kind of like Netflix) or some reading.

A really nice way to relax.

Just WOW!!! 🌅 ❄️🔥🌅❤️

How has everyone’s weekend been?

This was this afternoon's sunset, it literally looks like the sky is on fire 🔥 (started around 2.30 PM) in Marma on our way home from Valbo. The colors are beyond beautiful reflecting off the ice!!

The tips of the trees?

It is truly as if Mother Nature dipped her paint brush is a big pot of bright rustic orange paint as she ran and danced without a care in the World, through the forests and fields, running her brush full of paint over the tops of those trees as she sang the sunset into existence 🖌🎨🤗
I am so looking forward to one day painting some of these sunsets onto canvas .🖌🎨🌅

This lake is frozen …

you can actually see how thick the ice is when looking at the cracks through the ice (the photos don’t do that part justice) easily 10 or more centimeters thick already and it still not nearly as cold as it will become ❄️🌅🤞🏼
